Did you know Jesus has already obtained redemption for believers?
Catholicism denies this by teaching: “The work of our redemption is carried on” every time the Eucharist is celebrated (CCC, 1405) God’s Word declares: “He [Jesus] entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption” (Heb. 9:12). “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace” (Eph. 1:7).
I think the key word in Hebrews 9:12 is eternal. If something is eternal, it goes on and on forever. The word eternal does not refer to something only in the past tense. Eternal things exist outside of the boundaries of time and they continue without interruption. The Eucharist is an eternal gift from God. Those who receive the Eucharist step outside of time. They are with Jesus at the Last Supper. They are with Jesus at the foot of the Cross. They are with Jesus at His resurrection. They are with Jesus in Heaven at the marriage supper of the Lamb. They are present with Jesus in all of these places and times simultaneously. The gift of the Eucharist is mysterious, mystical, and miraculous.
The Eucharist was never meant to be a one-time event. Jesus commanded the breaking of the bread to continue when He said, “Do this in remembrance of Me.” The Eucharistic meal, like the Passover meal of the Old Covenenant, is a memorial of redemption. The Eucharist, however, is not just a memorial, it is also a real communion with Christ.
Judge what I say: Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ? 1 Corinthians 10:15-16
Is the Body and Blood of Christ eternal? Is our redemption through the Body and Blood of Christ? I think the Bereans would, after a thorough search of Scripture, answer “yes” to both questions. Therefore, everytime that we partake of the bread and the cup which St. Paul refers to in 1 Corinthians 10, we participate in our eternal redemption.

No, the key word is ‘once’. The price is paid in full and is never owed again. The debt is forever (eternally) forgiven. Christ doesn’t keep paying the ransom, nor do we; nor do we re-present the ransom or the sacrafice. He entered ONCE and the debt is paid in full. The fact that there is no debt any more — that is eternal. We are instructed to ‘remember’ how significant His sacrafice was by participating in communion of the bread and wine as a memorial to honor the magnitude of this historical event. We may even reinact the setting as a teaching tool for spiritual understanding, but the debt has been paid in full.
The key word in salvation is ‘eternal’. And the life that God gives freely is eternal. Belief in Christ happens in a moment in time and the gift of eternal life is given at that moment and is ETERNAL. That means it doesn’t end. And we can have total assurance of this not because Rome would ever say so but because the Scripture says so.
1 John 5:9-13
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for the witness of God is this, that He has borne witness concerning His Son. [10] The one who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the witness that God has borne concerning His Son. [11] AND THE WITNESS IS THIS, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. [12] He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
[13] These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may KNOW that you have eternal life.
Where in scripture does it ever indicate believers step in and out of time and space?
The writer of Hebrews makes it clear that believers are confined to God’s convenants in TIME.
Hebrews 9:27 (NASB)
And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,
These are ‘spiritual things’ the scriptures have revealed for our understanding and growth.
1 Cor. 6:17
But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
Just because God gives eternal life to those who would believe doesn’t mean they ‘participate’ in God’s eternal past just because they are now ‘eternal’.
The scriptures reveal God’s objective realities to the believer in time. The scriptures reveal that Jesus was ressurected and He is sitting at the right hand of the Father in his ressurected body!
Hebrews 10:12-13 (NASB)
but He, having offered ONE sacrifice for sins for ALL time, sat down at the right hand of God, [13] waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.
And though we as believers are to learn about Christ’s life as our example and remember His death as our substitute, His ressurection is what is foundational to the gospel in which we stand. Without it our faith would be in vain.
Roman Catholic teaching has altered the memorial communion into something that is far from the teaching of the Apostles.
And your argument here is borderline ‘eternal security’ which Roman Catholicism doesn’t teach. Again, you are mixing your apologetic reasoning in a place where you have no authority at all by RCC standards. What gives you the right, or any Catholic apologist, to explain and interpret scripture or the catachism? Are you part of the Holy See? Are you part of the RCC Magesterium? Do you speak ex cathedra? No, you can claim none of these so there is a chance that you are 1% innacurate in what you claim, which means you can’t say anything about absolute truth.
Again, where does the RCC teach that you are stepping in and out of time by the Eucharistic rite?
Nowhere.
Where do the Apostles preach the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus saves you apart from the law? Only Paul was given this revealtion. NOT the Apostles! Even Peter found this hard to understand!

Hello my friend, normally I rarely comment on personal blogs however this time I am afraid I have to do so. A few days ago I decided to install the latest version of the Apple Safari Internet browser and this blog doesn’t render properly ever since. Right now your sidebar overlaps part of the text and I can’t see it. I had a similar issue with my herbal incense reviews blog and I was able to fix it by editing the CSS code. Can you please fix it? Thanks in advance! Sorry for my crappy English, it’s not my native language. I am German
